Avon Boat Courses... our Craft
‘Lady Moira' is a classic Broom 30 built in the early 1970’s.
She is a 6 berth, centre cockpit, shaft driven, displacement cruiser,
powered by a Perkins 4263 diesel engine.
She
has wide walk-round decks with a safety guard rail
and an upper helm position.
This design,
with its excellent handling characteristics,
makes her suitable as both an inland and coastal cruiser.
The overall length of 30 feet, beam of 10 foot 6 inches and
draft of about 3 feet, makes her the ideal craft for serious
tuition.

Avon Boat Courses... Its Moorings and Facilities
Avon
Boat Courses are managed from the chief instructor's
own home at Wyre Piddle, near Pershore. The house, called 'Meanders',
offers a comfortable and welcoming base where course participants
can take a break from river and boating activities.
| |
 |
We normally begin our courses from our own private moorings,
which are at the bottom of the gardens at ‘Meanders’.
If course participants wish to use their own boat, this
can be arranged. However, there may be an extra charge
for time and mileage to reach your boat’s moorings..
